The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation, UNESCO, declared 23rd APRIL as World Book Day. The Language and Literature Bureau, organised the World Book Day Celebration by launching the latest books and digital books, the latest books published by the Language and Literature Bureau, 23rd April afternoon.

The launch of 5 new books and 40 digital books were officiated by Yang Berhormat Pengiran Dato Seri Setia Shamhary bin Pengiran Dato Paduka Haji Mustapha, Minister of Transport and Infocommunications. With the theme “Bacalah dengan Gayamu" or “Read Your Way", the celebration was another major and strategic effort by the bureau to inspire the community to love books and reading, especially among children and the entire community in general. Also present were Members of the Legislative Council.
